Shadybrook Elementary has approximately 400 Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade students enrolled. Our school colors are red, white and blue. We are the “Shadybrook Eagles”!
Students will leave Shadybrook Elementary as responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education.
Academic disciplines at school
Daily lessons align with Common Core standards as described by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Students have many opportunities to engage in hands-on activities to further their understanding of the curriculum.

Arts disciplines at school
Students participate in art, music and physical education on a weekly rotational schedule. The teachers in these disciplines collaborate with classroom teachers to help students make connections with content that is taught in the regular classroom setting.
Community service at school (noteworthy programs)
Shadybrook has many annual traditions that provide students the opportunity to give back to their community. Listed are some of the events that students participated in last year:
Socktober-Students collected 851 pairs of socks that were donated to local shelters;
Turkey Run-Canned food drive event;
Muffins for Mom-Community event that acknowledged the appreciation of mom and those who are motherly figures to our students;
Breakfast for Dads- Community event to show the appreciation of dad and those who have an influence in a fatherly way;
Good Will Spring Cleaning Event-Donations were made to Good Will Industries while freeing up some space during “Spring Cleaning” at home.
