2026 MLK Service: Brushes for Brilliance

On MLK Day, HPSP brought Dr. King’s vision of service to life at High Point Central High School. Through our Brushes for Brilliance project, volunteers spent the day transforming five classrooms—painting walls, refreshing spaces, and creating brighter, more welcoming environments where students can learn and thrive. High Point Central opened its doors to this effort, and the HPU Science Fellows showed up with energy and care, working side by side with the HPSP team to make the day meaningful and impactful. With support from VISTA and HPU’s Center for Community Engagement, this day of service reminded us that investing in our schools is investing in our community and that service is a powerful way to turn commitment into action.
