We host a variety of regular community events that bring students, educators, families, and community members together.
Extraordinary Educators
Every fall, HPSP celebrates the dedication of exceptional educators at the Extraordinary Educators luncheon, honoring one outstanding teacher from each GCS school in High Point.
Student Leadership Awards
In the spring, HPSP hosts a special luncheon where principals nominate a standout high school senior from each GCS school, usually one who has overcome challenges and excelled. Our aim is to recognize these inspiring students and their achievements.
Principal for a Day
Early in the school year, the Principal for a Day event offers volunteers a behind-the-scenes look at education in Guilford County. Participants can spend the morning shadowing a principal, cafeteria worker, bus driver, or even the Superintendent, gaining valuable insights into the school environment.
YEP Convening
Held each spring and fall, YEP Convenings bring Youth Enrichment Programs together to collaborate, network, and problem-solve. These gatherings focus on key issues like mental health, literacy, and organized play, promoting a united approach to addressing the needs of our students.

Spring into Summer Resource Fair

Summer is just around the corner! Join us for the Spring Into Summer Resource Fair — a free, fun-filled event where families can explore summer activities, camps, and resources to keep their students engaged all season long.
Come enjoy face painting, games, food trucks, sweet treats, live DJ, and more while connecting with local organizations that offer exciting opportunities for kids and teens this summer. It’s a great day out for the whole family, and best of all, it’s completely free!
This event is presented in partnership with Guilford County Schools, the City of High Point, and High Point Schools Partnership.

Youth Enrichment Providers Spring Convening: Strengthening Systems Together for Youth Success

Join Youth Enrichment Providers for our Spring Convening — a collaborative morning bringing together youth-serving professionals to strengthen partnerships and drive collective impact for children and families in High Point.
This year’s sessions will focus on the topics that matter most to our network right now: attendance, mental health, school partnerships, and how organizations can better advocate for and market their work in the community. Through a keynote on the role and power of community organizations and schools, along with focused breakout sessions, participants will build capacity, share strategies, and leave with practical tools to deepen their impact across afterschool, summer learning, mentoring, and family engagement.
