Extraordinary Educators

Every fall, HPSP celebrates the dedication of exceptional educators at the Extraordinary Educators luncheon, honoring one outstanding teacher from each GCS school in High Point.

Student Leadership Awards

In the spring, HPSP hosts a special luncheon where principals nominate a standout high school senior from each GCS school, usually one who has overcome challenges and excelled. Our aim is to recognize these inspiring students and their achievements.

Principal for a Day

Early in the school year, the Principal for a Day event offers volunteers a behind-the-scenes look at education in Guilford County. Participants can spend the morning shadowing a principal, cafeteria worker, bus driver, or even the Superintendent, gaining valuable insights into the school environment.

YEP Convening

Held each spring and fall, YEP Convenings bring Youth Enrichment Programs together to collaborate, network, and problem-solve. These gatherings focus on key issues like mental health, literacy, and organized play, promoting a united approach to addressing the needs of our students.

YEP Mental Health Trainings

Come along as we delve into the topic of mental health in our youth. Each session is conducted by specialists in the field of youth mental health. The next session is on Trauma Informed Care-  How to support children who are experiencing trauma and stress in a youth program setting, navigating behavior issues related to trauma/stress, and supporting social/emotional skills development.
