Allen Jay Elementary
Allen Jay Elementary is a public elementary school enrolling over 450 students. Students at Allen Jay are empowered to explore their unique abilities through diverse and global learning. This is accomplished by two special academic programs. The Dual Language Initiative aims to teach core curriculum in English as well as in Spanish and Urdu, making Allen Jay the only school in the country that teaches Urdu. This style of learning is extremely beneficial and compatible for both English speakers and learners. Additionally, the Arts Integration Academy encourages teachers to integrate arts within the content areas of their lessons. Teachers often instruct through music, and every classroom has at least one instrument.

Kirkman Park Elementary is a public magnet school enrolling around 250 students. Kirkman Park is one of two Spanish Immersion language programs offered in Guilford County Schools and the only one in High Point. Students, beginning in kindergarten, participate in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, but in the target language of Spanish. All the instructors are native-born speakers who share their language and culture with the students. Additionally, Kirkman Park’s small class sizes give the staff the opportunity to offer individualized and personalized instruction. The school’s proximity to High Point University affords the staff the ability to further their professional education and also gives Kirkman Park’s students the opportunity to engage with many of the High Point University students.

Montlieu Academy of Technology is a technology-focused public magnet school enrolling over 450 students. Montlieu’s blended learning environment gives students access to traditional and digital resources, meaning that all students have individual, daily iPad access in class. Additionally, students in grades 3-5 have at-home iPad access. Montlieu also offers many technology-based CTE opportunities, including Digital Art, Graphic Design, Music Composition and Production, and Coding.

Northwood Elementary is a public magnet/choice school enrolling over 500 students in pre-k through fifth grades. Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, Northwood will offer a new choice program “World of Discovery—Career Exploration and Language”. The school’s vision is to develop career-ready, internationally-minded citizens through inquiry and self-reflection. As part of the choice program, all scholars learn Mandarin Chinese. In addition, all scholars spend time exploring and researching career options. Third through fifth grade scholars pick a specific career to research and complete a presentation dressed as someone in that career. Third through fifth grade scholars continue their career exploration by researching colleges or other post high school options that will prepare them for the career they researched. They will also visit a local university to learn more about college life. The skills and knowledge scholars gain through the World of Discovery theme, such as critical thinking, cultural awareness, and an awareness of different careers and the paths to get to those careers, increase motivation and engagement and provide a strong foundation for future academic success.

Students at Oak Hill can participate in a variety of athletics, including Community Basketball, Swimming (in second grade) and First Tee Golf (in fourth grade). Oak Hill students can also join clubs such as Drama Club, Morning Show News Crew, Safety Patrol, GoFar Running Club and High Point LEAP. Oak View has a variety of unique learning opportunities, including the Maker Space, in which students can work with Legos, a 3-D printer, a Green screen, as well as technology and engineering tools for unique, hands-on learning. Additionally, through the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Cohort School, students learn to manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Students learn how to be proactive as well as to work with others. As a leadership school, students have multiple opportunities to show their leadership skills by running awards programs and parent events. Students can also participate in the Go Far Running Club or Battle of the Books.
