About The School
Special Academic Programs
SCALE - School Community Alternative Learning Environment - provides students who have been suspended an opportunity to continue their education. SCALE uses a variety of approaches for improving behavior and academics with the ultimate goal of enabling the student to return to a regular school setting.
Restorative Practices - processes that proactively build healthy relationships and a sense of community to prevent and address conflict and wrongdoing. Restorative Practices can improve relationships between students, between students and educators, and even between educators, whose behavior often serves as a role model for students. They allow each member of the school community to develop and implement a school’s adopted core values.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) - Social and Emotional Learning is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. SEL intentionally cultivates a caring, participatory, and equitable learning environment and evidence-based practices that actively involve all students in their social, emotional, and academic growth. This approach infuses social and emotional learning into every part of students’ daily lives—across all of their classrooms, during all times of the school day, and when they are in their homes and communities.
